When you are writing about a specific incident it is helpful to ask, "What is significant about this?" Asking the question can help the writing stay focused
Growing up, I read every Nancy Drew book available. My curiosity and imagination carried me page by page as I searched for answers to what had transpired. My curiosity about what happened continues, but on a personal level. I want to solve the mystery of the stories of my family members who lived generations before I was born. Unfortunately, I can only imagine how their stories evolved into mine and the mystery remains.
"Heaven Help Mom" saves stories of my current family’s joys, trials and everyday life. Future generations will know the stories behind the names and the personal stories set against the backdrop of this time. My book is a gift of love for those seeking inspiration today, but it is also a gift of love from me to those family members who may one day have the soul of a Nancy Drew.
Through this blog, I will help you write your own family memoirs; stories that can help inspire the future.

Thanks,
It never really occurred to me to ask if a specific scene was significant. I suppose if I paid more attention to it - my writing would tighten up.
Thanks for the reminder.
